A collection of six short plays by Gill Blow
1st to 3rd June

Everton Village Hall
7:30pm

Variety is the spice of life it’s said, and there’s plenty of it in this collection of six short plays to be performed by The Workhouse Players at Everton Village Hall in June. A medley of characters unravel the the twists and turns of their stories which are funny and poignant, even sinister. Characters such as Audrey who, as she winds wool, talks of the painful reason why she has to face her fear of driving over the Humber Bridge, there is a revealing conversation between two people in the grounds of a stately home, then there’s pensioner Clive, an Elvis impersonator who gets into hot water with his drainpipes, and the strange disturbing tale of Mr. Sinclair. There’s Jean who explains why she is secretly knitting in a cafe under the skewed gaze of the owner, and the captivating tale of the couple who meet on a hill. Workhouse Players actors Mand Austen, Sue Hill, Phil Jones, Laura Martin and Dean Woolley display their spellbinding talents in this production written by award winning Gill Blow.
